A barrier seal is used to prevent unauthorized access to your lading. As stated in Item 2250-D, the customer has the responsibility to protect the safety and integrity of its lading, including the application of barrier seals.
Montana Rail Link (MRL) does not provide barrier seals to our customers in order to be in compliance with BNSF’s rule governing Barrier Seal Application and the established prerequisites for claiming rail carrier responsibility/liability for lading damage/loss due to seal exception.
MRL will not participate or be party to claims for lading loss or damage as stated in Item 2250-D of BNSF Rule Book 6100-A.
MRL and BNSF Railway do not require or recommend any particular brand of seal or manufacturer, and there are many manufacturers available to you for the purchase of seals. Some examples of seal manufacturers are:
Tyden Brammall |
CGM Security Solutions |
Universeal USA, Inc. |
Mega Fortis (USA), Inc. |
E. J. Brooks Company |
|
MRL appreciates your support and, by complying with
Item 2250-D of BNSF Rule Book 6100-A for the protection of your lading, correct barrier seal application is a step in the right direction.
